The 31st Annual Update in Primary Care
The purpose of this meeting is to provide attendees with clinically relevant information about the rapidly changing updates and clinical practice guidelines and has been designed to update regional primary care providers on advances in a variety of internal medicine topics with a dual focus on improving their own clinical practice and highlighting the referral expertise of The Medical College of Wisconsin. Each morning opens with a one-hour featured speaker from various MCW clinical departments followed by five speakers from the Division of General Intenal Medicine, in addition to optional noon workshops.
We want to share our specialized medical knowledge to increase the quality of practice by community physicians and to make them aware of when they should contact an academic medical center for specialized care of their patients.
Target Audience
Primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and allied health care professionals.
Learning Objectives
- Name the new advances in heart failure management including medications and devices.
- Identify methods of integrating trauma care into their own clinical practice.
- Implement the latest standards in pre-op evaluation for their patients.
- Describe resources available to perform travel medicine evaluations for patients.
