This activity addresses mainly the adult perioperative population. Specific categories of patient that need perioperative monitoring with TEE are patients that undergoing cardiac surgery, liver transplantation, trauma, intraoperative hemodynamic derangement, decompensated heart failure and patients on LVADs that present for non cardiac surgery. Older pediatric patients with structurally normal heart have similar pathophysiology.
