Program Description:

While MCW has a large portfolio of community -academic partnerships, our approach to these activities has historically been decentralized, unfocused, fragmented, and ad hoc. Based on extensive internal and external feedback obtained by the Office of the Senior Associate Dean (SAD) forCE through the SAD CE Taskforce, the Carnegie Classification review, and the AHW CE Service Priorities, creating real return on the past decade of CE investments requires a shift away from basic capacity building, toward a much more strategic stance that emphasizes three key innovations : 1) Improving operationa l coordination and integration of CE projects both with our partners and internally within and between Divisions, Departments and Centers to ensure that our initial successes in CE become part of the institutional fabric of MCW across the entire enterpr ise [CE Core Facilitation AIM]; 2) Embedding and transm itting the knowledge and practices used by highly trained CEnR faculty and staff to those Department s and Centers that are still in the early stages of CE adoption to ensure that community partners have a consistent CE experience when working with any MCW partner [CE Core Education AIM];3) Catalyzing new pilot projects that embed this strategic CE view from the outset, involve MCW groups new to CE,and utilize CE Core Facilitation resources from project inception to ensure community partners have a positive experience [CE Core Seed Grants AIM]. In order to evaluate and support this work, we will also develop a set of tools that allow near "real-time" view into MCW's CE activities throughout the state of Wisconsin that provide insight and accountability for stakeholders at all levels of the process.
