Program Description:

Mortality Conferences are geared to review deaths in medical service, and in so doing, identify opportunities to improve patient care. From the faculty a senior faculty selects a case for discussion by the resident and helps the resident prepare the presentation and evaluates his performance during the entire project that lasts almost 3-4 weeks. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requires that all deaths in medical service by systematically reviewed and that residents be engaged in scholarly projects. The Med-Path Conferences follow a similar process and fulfills the scholarly project requirement.
