Program Description:

Surgeons benefit from learning about advances in the field of surgery. We know of this as a professional practice gap based on surgery journals, websites, etc. There are new preoperative evaluations and surgical techniques that need to be learned in order to provide best patient care. The planning committee determines the topics to be presented based on what is the most current and relevant issues in this area of study.

At the conclusion of this activity, particpants will be able to:

1.  Provide access to current information regarding recent clinical and basic science advances in the field of surgery to practicing surgeons in the Milwaukee area.

2.  Provide programs that meet the educational needs of the academy membership (determined by needs identified by members of the program committee)

3.  Provide a format that encourages open discussion among members on various relevant topics.

4.  More specific objectives are created for each individual lecture.
