Program Description: 

Attendees will demonstrate competency in medical knowledge within the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology in a case-based discussion format. Attendees will gain insight into recently published journal articles from experts in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Differentiate the clinical presentations of common and atypical GI diseases to guide diagnostic evaluation.
  • Apply current diagnostic strategies to the evaluation of GI diseases in clinical practice.
  • Present clinical cases in conference and small-group settings to solicit peer input that informs patient management decisions.
  • Apply findings from current GI research to inform clinical decision-making and patient care.
  • Critically appraise GI literature through structured journal review to inform evidence-based practice.
  • Analyze research methodology and common challenges in GI research to identify strategies for improving study design and execution.
