This annual event is a formal educational teaching tool designed to keep physicians and healthcare professionals up to date in developing areas of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, including research, technology and treatments available. A better understanding of disease processes, testing and treatment reduces needless and costly patient care and results in improved quality. The newest research, technologies and treatments must be learned in order to provide best patient care. The event will improve competency and proper care of patients. Potential areas of inadequate performance which may have contributed to an outcome will be addressed, along with how to avoid or improve performance in the future. Patient care standards are adjusted based on outcomes.
