43rd Forum for Behavioral Science in Family Medicine Community Health, Collective Action, Personal Responsibility: Behavioral Medicine’s Role in National Healing

Chicago, IL US
September 7, 2022 to September 10, 2022

The Forum for Behavioral Science is an annual meeting of behavioral scientists and family physicians dedicated to education, research, professional identity, and wellbeing of clinicians and educators in Family Medicine.  We continue to search for support and healing in the face of sustained stress and conflict.  Behavioral scientists have a great deal to offer yet may find it difficult to find the time or muster the energy and resources to add “one more thing” to our plates.  We do know that our group of behavioral scientists finds energy and creativity in connection and mutual support. The Forum's planning committee is excited to create an opportunity to gather together, support, and grow.  Core content areas for the Forum include physician-patient relationships, health behavior change, family systems, primary care management of psychiatric disorders, ethics, resident and physician well-being, diversity, leadership, and educational strategies.  In addition to these topics, the 43rd Forum which address the effects of the pandemic and policy on individual and community health, the benefits and limits of telehealth , coping with anger and burnout related to a broken medical system and divided population, and the critical importance of social connections for personal, professional, and community wellness.
