Program Description: 

Pediatric Tumor Board is a weekly lecture series that is given by pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT fellows and attendings. Each presentation focuses on a patient presentation that leads to a clinical question. The presenter will review the pertinent data that addresses the clinical question. Our pathology and radiology colleagues also participate to ensure multidisciplinary education occurs. The focus of the talk may be about diagnostic dilemma, treatment choices, or adverse event mitigation or treatment. The goal of the conference is to come to an agreement on the answer to the clinical question based on the data presented.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Communicate the importance of the role that pathology, radiology and oncology have in the diagnosis of oncology and bone marrow transplant (BMT) disorders.
  • Demonstrate how to critically review the literature to answer a clinical questions.
  • Demonstrate how to diagnose and treat both common and uncommon oncology and BMT diagnoses.
  • Engage in discussion about treatment planning for oncology and BMT diagnoses.
