Program Description: 

This is a series that includes both didactic lectures and case-based presentations geared towards the pediatric emergency medicine provider. Presentations are given by pediatric emergency medicine providers, subspecialty physicians, or experts from other disciplines and cover a wide range of topics that include an evidence-based medicine approach to pediatric resuscitation/trauma and other common acute pediatric illnesses, public health topics such as health disparities, community violence, and pediatric mental health, amongst others

  • Provide patient care that reflects evidence-based medicine as presented and reviewed in the series
  • Examine as part of the group whether changes need to be made to existing clinical practice guidelines to improve patient care when new information or healthcare innovations are

  • Understand social, economic, and environmental issues that affect the health of patients cared for in the emergency department
