Program Description: 

This conference focuses on outcomes research in chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease, delivery of care in dialysis units and chronic kidney disease clinics, emerging data on new treatments compared to current standard fo care, review of kidney pathology, and basic science research that may become future therapeutics.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Practice an approach to the interpretation of a medical kidney biopsy that utilizes the four histologic 'compartments' of the kidney.
  • Demonstrate the histopathologic patterns of injury which were present in recent biopsied patients within our healthcare system.
  • Advance understanding of the pathologic mechanisms of kidney disease.
