Program Description: 

This weekly transplant service line lecture serves as an educational forum for team members, providing an opportunity to discuss a variety of clinical, surgical, and system-based topics relevant to transplant care. It promotes interdisciplinary learning, case-based discussions, and continuous improvement in patient management.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Review the genetics, function and distribution of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA).
  • Describe the testing and methodologies used in the HLA laboratory.
  • Identify donor specific antibody (DSA) assessments, both pre-transplant (virtual crossmatch) and post-transplant.
