This is a weekly conference dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the American Board of Pediatrics Board Content within Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Attending this lecture series will expand one's medical knowledge of the core principles of pediatric critical care medicine, including pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, and management for patients in the pediatric ICU.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Describe the basic principles and clinical purpose of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS).
- Describe the fundamental principles of how Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) functions and how it differs from pulse oximetry.
- Explain how cerebral and renal NIRS monitoring differ in physiologic significance and clinical application in the PICU.
- Explain how cerebral and renal NIRS monitoring is used to assess regional perfusion and oxygenation in PICU patients.
- Recognize and interpret low and high cerebral and renal NIRS values and their implications for tissue oxygenation and perfusion.
- Integrate invasive monitoring waveform analysis with clinical assessment to guide timely and appropriate interventions in critically ill pediatric patients.
