Target audience:
  • Physicians
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Fellows
  • Students/Residents
Learning objectives:
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

•    Collaborate principles of neonatal physiology and pathophysiology to the clinical assessment and management of common conditions encountered in term and preterm newborns.
•    Evaluate strengths and limitations of evidence-based practices guiding the care of hospitalized newborns and the education of providers in neonatal medicine.
•    Identify clinical indications for escalation of care from the newborn nursery to the NICU, including recognition of physiologic instability and conditions requiring higher-level neonatal support.
