Program Description: 

The APC Lecture Series is designed to enhance clinician competence, improve performance, and positively impact patient outcomes. Participants will gain competence by applying evidence-based guidelines and introducing them into day-to-day practice. The series promotes a culture of continuous improvement, peer-to-peer education, and patient-centered practice that integrates safety, quality, and best practices into daily clinical workflows.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Demonstrate proper application and fitting of a lower leg splint, including appropriate padding, positioning, immobilization technique, and assessment of neurovascular status.
  • Demonstrate correct application and adjustment of a CAM (controlled ankle motion) boot for common foot and ankle injuries.
  • Demonstrate proper sizing, fitting, and range-of-motion adjustment of a TROM (total range of motion) knee brace, including patient instruction on brace use and locking mechanisms.
