WPA Grand Rounds series features a variety of topics in psychiatry. This virtual series occurs monthly on the last Thursday of the month from 12pm-1pm CST.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Apply Wisconsin's legal and constitutional requirements governing involuntary medication orders to the treatment of individuals undergoing competency restoration
  • Analyze the ethical, clinical, and legal tensions between individual liberties and the state's interest in restoring competency to stand trial, applying these principles to real-world forensic psychiatry cases.
  • Identify and evaluate key challenges affecting competency restoration in Wisconsin, including treatment barriers, system constraints, patient rights considerations, and interdisciplinary decision-making processes.
