- Evaluate clinical indications for referral of NICU infants for diagnostic hearing evaluation process following referral.
- Differentiate diagnostic auditory evoked potential testing from newborn hearing screening, including their respective purposes and clinical applications in the NICU population.
- Review the clinical significance of early identification and intervention for congenital hearing loss in infants cared for in the NICU.
- Confirm the roles and scopes of practice of audiology and otolaryngology in the evaluation and management of hearing loss in NICU patients, including areas of interdisciplinary collaboration.
