Unraveling the Secrets of Women’s Cardiovascular Health

Limited gender specific information leads to impaired execution of diagnostic and treatment protocols for women. Additionally, socioeconomic, and other factors prevent some women from participating in trials and these women have access to some of the available tests and treatments. This course is designed to provide the most up to date clinical protocols for patient care with a special emphasis on protocols which are straightforward and encourage women to participate.

  • Family Medicine Physicians
  • General Internal Medicine Physicians

Learning Objectives

Participants in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • describe and identify gender specific cardiovascular risks.
  • apply the adherence guidelines directed therapies for treatment of cardiovascular disease in women.
  • employ motivational techniques to increase patient motivation to adopt cardiovascular prevention interventions.
