Program Description: 

Attendees of Pediatric Grand Rounds will learn from leading experts state-of-the art clinical and basic science best available evidence in a wide variety of topics in pediatric medicine. Information presented will enable attendees to remain current on best practices that improve their ability to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Recognize that questionable eugenic principles were used to justify forced sterilizations in recent American history and that similar ideas could be applied to modern genetic technologies.
  • Define disparities in health and health care at the population level and recognize the multiple roots of those inequities including the impact of racism and biases as well as potential solutions.
  • Articulate personal spheres in which anti-oppressive actions can be implemented.
