Program Description: 

Attendees of Pediatric Grand Rounds will learn from leading experts state-of-the art clinical and basic science best available evidence in a wide variety of topics in pediatric medicine. Information presented will enable attendees to remain current on best practices that improve their ability to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • List the most common causes of death in children by age group.
  • Explain the different emotions that bereaved parents experience.
  • Describe reasons that someone would take his/her own life.
  • Provide practical tips about what to say and not say to a bereaved parent.
  • Explain and refer bereaved parents to Compassionate Friends, a support group for bereaved families.
  • Identify resources for bereaved parents and for mental health related issues.
