Program Description: 

Attendees of Pediatric Grand Rounds will learn from leading experts state-of-the art clinical and basic science best available evidence in a wide variety of topics in pediatric medicine. Information presented will enable attendees to remain current on best practices that improve their ability to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Describe the current challenges and gaps in care for patients with thalassemia.
  • Discuss strategies for integrating hematology, transfusion medicine, and subspecialty services to improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with thalassemia.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance institutional infrastructure and collaboration to support comprehensive thalassemia care.
  • Recognize how lessons learned from thalassemia program development can inform care models for other complex hematologic disorders
