- Analyze vascular anatomy using ultrasound to guide appropriate vascular access technique and site selection.
- Complete a Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (FAST) Exam.
- Complete a Focused Assessment with Sonography for Free Fluid (FAFF) Exam.
- Identify the diaphragm and characterize its movement.
- Perform parasternal long and short axis views of the heart.
- Identify the cardiac structures visualized in an optimized apical 4 and 5 chamber view.
- Perform subcostal long and short axis views of the heart.
- Perform all of the standard views of a hemodynamic assessment, including IVC Transverse and Longitudinal Views, Subcostal View, Parasternal Long Axis View, Parasternal Short Axis View, and Apical 4 Chamber View.
- Explain how appropriate imaging plane selection influences accurate ultrasound image interpretation in clinical practice.
- Explain the strengths and weaknesses of all basic cardiac views (Subcostal, Parasternal Long Axis, Parasternal Short Axis, and Apical 4 Chamber) in qualitative ventricular functional assessment.
