ForwardScholarship in Progress is a virtual seminar series that provides opportunity for those engaged in child health in the areas of research, education and quality improvement to share their scholarly activity and promote interaction and opportunities among researchers and providers. Participants are exposed to ongoing activities in basic, translational and clinical research, educational development and quality improvements being performed by researchers and providers within pediatrics and child health.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Describe the burden and causes of medication errors in pediatric prehospital seizure management.
- Explain the design and goals of the Pediatric Dose Optimization for Seizures in EMS (PediDOSE) study.
- Discuss the successes and challenges of conducting randomized prehospital pediatric research, including the role of the Charlotte, Houston, and Milwaukee Prehospital Research Node within the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN).
- Describe the multifactorial pathogenesis of biliary atresia (BA), including genetic, inflammatory, and immune-mediated mechanisms that contribute to disease development and progression.
- Explain the role of the IL-8/CXCR2 signaling pathway in neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation and discuss how this pathway may contribute to the inflammatory processes observed in biliary atresia.
- Discuss emerging research findings on neutrophil-driven inflammation in biliary atresia, including the potential implications of NET formation pathways for future therapeutic targets.
