This session is led by Advanced Practice Providers. It will provide updates on diagnosis & management of GI issues commonly encountered in care of pediatric patients, including abdominal pain & constipation.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Analyze the incidence and prevalence of pediatric functional constipation and abdominal pain among children in the United States
  • Summarize the pathophysiology, assessment and diagnosis of functional constipation and abdominal pain in children.
  • Discuss the multifactorial treatment options for functional constipation and abdominal pain utilizing evidence based and safest care for children.
  • Evaluate the implications of diagnosing and treating children with functional Gastrointestinal issues in the Advance Practice Provider practice.
