Learning objectives:
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Evaluate the benefits and limitations of ultrasound-guided vascular access in NICU patients, including its impact on safety, success rates, and complication reduction.
- Collect appropriate vascular access strategies for NICU patients based on clinical condition, gestational age, and anticipated duration of therapy, incorporating the use of ultrasound guidance when indicated.
- Design and implement a sustainable ultrasound-guided vascular access program within the NICU, including key components of program development, staff training, workflow integration and quality improvement processes.
