Program Description: 

This session is led by a team of Advanced Practice Providers.  For this session we discuss the APP our national and local landscape, how roles and scope of practice have evolved rapidly to meet growing patient care needs. Our local structure, initiatives, successes and barriers are topics that will be explored. The second part of this session provides the training and skills to more successfully actively participate and build more high functioning, collaborative healthcare teams to ultimately impact the health, function and wellbeing of care teams and patients. Topics including how to help teams work more effectively together and tips/tricks on how to help teams when they are "stuck" will be reviewed.

  • Review Advanced Practice Provider (APP) practice guidelines and updates and integrate improvements in clinician care
  • Identify characteristics of high performing and achieving teams​ as to apply more effective multidisciplinary practice
  • Identify common factors that negatively impact teams​ and develop plans to prevent potential inhibitors/obstacles 
  • Explain ways to address dynamics in teams​ and how to improve collaboration among peers
  • Determine ways to build and enhance team effectiveness when communicating and interacting with patient populations
