The APP Education Series offers diverse topics from clinical-based knowledge, pharmacological updates, professional development, and leadership skills targeted to the APP population.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

Problem Solving

  • Apply problem solving tools into everyday problem solving.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand problems in everyday work and identify potential solution.
  • Apply problem solving and change management strategies to address an identified opportunity. Advance Practice Provider fellows will complete a problem-solving project (Department APP optional but encouraged).

Career Journey

  • Compare career development opportunities and career pathways for APPs.
  • Prepare professional goals and identify opportunities that align your career and professional development goals.
  • Design an approach for professional representation including resume development, professional portfolios, and interview approaches.
  • APP Fellows: Create a post-fellowship job transition plan, including a professional representation approach.

Personal Development & Reflection

  • Recognize self-awareness skills and emotional limitation to engage in appropriate help-seeking behaviors.
  • Practice a variety of self-reflective skills and tools to support reflection and growth strategies.
  • Recognize stages of professional identity and the contributions to professionalism.
