Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
 
  • Interpret the pathophysiology and disease course of gout to explain the rationale behind diagnostic criteria and treatment decisions in clinical practice.
  • Construct a treatment regimen that is evidence-based and considers acute flare management, urate-lowering therapy, and flare prophylaxis.
  • Evaluate comorbidities, contraindications, and drug interactions to justify medication selection and anticipate potential therapeutic trade-offs in complex patients.
  • Apply a systematic titration and monitoring protocol to assess treatment response, adjust urate-lowering therapy to target serum urate goals, and recognize indicators for regimen modification.
