  • Assess patients for obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease using appropriate clinical criteria.
  • Determine patient eligibility for anti-obesity medication based on clinical indications, contraindications, and individual treatment goals.
  • Compare available anti-obesity medications according to efficacy, safety, contraindications, and patient-specific factors.
  • Apply evidence-based prescribing practices when selecting and monitoring anti-obesity medication therapy.
  • Evaluate when referral for bariatric surgery is appropriate based on patient characteristics, comorbidities, prior treatment history, and patient preferences.
