This course has been designed to provide a comprehensive and practical udpate of relevant topics in modern medicine.
 
Instructional techniques will include didactic lectures and case-based discussions. Learners will have an opportunity to interact with faculty and ask questions relevant to their own practice and learning needs.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Identify differences and similarities between palliative and hospice care.
Associate risks and benefits of new (and old) classes of medications used for type 2 diabetes.
Assess how new medications may change algorithms to manage type 2 diabetes.
Associate the relationship of the phytocannabinoids to the endogenous cannabinoid system.
Appraise the available evidence regarding use of cannabis as a therapeutic.
Recognize the potential for therapeutics that target the endocannabinoid system.
Facilitate local partnership development to address health equity in Milwaukee. 
Distinguish role of international healthcare professionals play in clinical observerships and trainings. 
Summarize exemplar local and global partnerships with community-based organizations, universities, medical schools, and healthcare delivery sites.
Evaluate gun control and its impact on society, more specifically health care system.
Interpret new health care pedagogies and evaluate effectiveness of interprofessional education modalities. 
Synthesize mediation’s effectiveness as a means to improve mental health.
Extrapolate value of medication adherence and role in patient health. 
Differentiate three-year and four-year medical school curricula.
Assess technological advancements and interactive approaches in medical education. 
Evaluate general population’s participation in research.
Measure strategic partnerships realization in positively altering academic medicine landscape.
