Program Description:
The American Nurses Association's (ANA) Center for Ethics & Human Rights provides the framework, language, and moral grounding to activate the Code of Ethics for Nurses in changing circumstances. The Center supports nurses in all roles to uphold professional values and address systemic changes affecting health and well-being. The Code strengthens nurses' ethical competence and commitment to human rights, reflecting the ANA's long-standing dedication to these principles. Seventy-five years after its first adoption, the Code continues to guide nursing's evolving art, science, and practice. This presentation highlights key revisions, implications for practice, and examples of how the Code addresses the ethical challenges in health care for all practitioners.

Bioethics and Medical Humanities Grand Rounds provides a monthly forum for teaching participants to resolve cases based on the best ethical practices. Bioethics and Medical Humanities Grand Rounds also provides information on any legislative changes that occur so that clinicians are ready to implement them. The Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities is the only clinical ethics center in Wisconsin. The faculty are leaders in clinical ethics and set the agenda for clinical ethics practice in Southeastern Wisconsin.
