Program Description: 

The educational series will incorporate evidence based guidelines and resources to address the identified educational gaps.  Those resources will be made available to participants for future use at the end of each education session.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to: 

  • Increase knowledge and proficiency of the most common short acting reversible contraceptives used by adolescent females
  • Articulate the method of a “quick start” contraceptive and understand how to reliably rule out pregnancy
  • Increase their knowledge of contraindications to estrogen and awareness of the CDC Medical Eligibility Criteria resource
  • Have increased understanding of the common side effects with short acting reversible contraceptives and strategies to manage
