Program Description:
The purpose of the conference is to educate participants in recognizing disease patterns clinically, on radiographs, on CT scans, and occasionally MRI.  It is also to review physical findings associated with respiratory disease, and to discuss new research and studies published in the literature. This will aid in diagnosis of pulmonary disease.  The pathologic basis for typical and not so typical respiratory diseases will be discussed and used as a spring board for research ideas for new treatments. Diseases of the respiratory system in children are among the most common and most deadly.  They are also among the most difficult to recognize and diagnose, and correct diagnosis can be delayed.  This multispecialty conference is to enhance the ability of staff physicians and trainees in diagnosing and understanding respiratory disease and disease processes, increasing accuracy in diagnosis and treatment.
