Program Description: 

Department of Medicine Grand Rounds is a weekly conference during the academic year to highlight updates and changes to best practices of internal medicine and medicine subspecialties. Attendees will learn updated medical knowledge and new programs to provide evidence-based practice and improve patient care.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

COVID-19 infection outcomes and testing outreach efforts among people living with HIV in Milwaukee, WI

  • Examine current research outcomes of COVID-19 infection in PL WH
  • Reflect on amount of time and energy spent counseling patients about vaccination
  • Acknowledge the role other medical professional outside of physicians have in patient outcomes

Prevalence, Predictors, and Outcomes of Type 2 NSTEMI in Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19

  • Examine the pertinent points in a patient's history which may hel prognosticate their disease
  • Review COVID-19 therapy options
  • Access evidenced-based medicine as it relates to COVID-19 therapy

Improving Resident-Nursing Communication

  • Identify challenges and barriers to effective communication between residents and nursing staff
  • Examine strategies to improve communication
  • Implement a new strategy to improve resident and nursing communication
