
Instructional Design
This faculty development educational series was designed to equip MCW’s current genetic counseling workforce to become educators within the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program located within MCW’s Graduate School. Through this series, genetic counselors will develop teaching skills to instruct students in a variety of settings. Speakers within this series are from MCW’s Office of Educational Improvement and collaborated with genetic counseling staff to ensure this series would be applicable to the clinical genetic counseling workforce. Speakers will provide instruction on educational program development, instructional design, active learning, educational technology, evaluation and assessment, and mentoring skills.

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Medical College of Wisconsin to offer up to 1.335 CEUs or 13.35 Category 1 contact hours for the activity MSGC Educator Development Series. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification.
Category 1 Contact Hours: 1.4 contact hours per live session (Agenda: 44 minutes of material, 6 minute break, 40 minutes of activity/discussion)
