Clinical Genetics Advanced Practice Provider Conference (CGAPP) 2022

Milwaukee, WI US
September 13, 2022 to September 15, 2022

Target Audience

This activity is intended for advance practice providers currently working in clinical genetics.

Learning Objectives

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • After hearing some of our basic lectures, the APP will know what to be concerned about and how to treat acute metabolic conditions, know some basics about LSD/MPS disorders, know what to look for neurocutaneous disorders, differences in brain malformations, and be more aware of connective tissue disorders.
  • For the more advanced APP in Genetics, impactful teachings in the areas of chromatinopathies, cardiogenetics and neurocutaneous disorders will offer greater knowledge into these hot topic areas and the research being done.
  • Using five APPs from across the country, our panel will provide discussion in areas of professionalism, best-practices, the utilization of APPs from one clinic to another, and needs of the clinical APP in Genetics.
  • Breakout groups will provide an opportunity to consider some of the ethical dilemmas in clinical genetics, allow providers who treat PKU and LSDs an opportunity to discuss best practices, and general genetics will get an overview of cancer genetics.
