Program Description: 

This CME program addresses gaps in medical knowledge and best practices with regards to the clinical practice of internal medicine and teaching learners the discipline of internal medicine. These conferences update the audience with new findings and best practices to match current understanding in the field of internal medicine so that our faculty are knowledgeable, competent, and practice patient care of value to the patient.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Recognize major stressors associated with caring for patients whose goals are misaligned with clinicians, and assess their longitudinal impact on hospitalist well-being and care delivery.
  • Evaluate institutional strategies, including the Johns Hopkins Hospitalist group’s interventions, and identify applicable resources within one’s own practice setting.
  • Develop patient-centered care expectation plans to address goal misalignment and improve communication and care outcomes.
