The Hematology & Oncology APP Education Series provides lectures and M&M conference opportunities covering different topics applicable to the field of oncology; topics may address clinical knowledge and practice application, research, pharmacology, and professional development appropriate to APPs in practice.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Review the diagnosis and clinical management of cardiac tamponade.
  • Identify the pathophysiology of cardiac tamponade and recognize its clinical presentation.
  • Review lactic acidosis and its etiologies.
  • Develop an etiology-driven approach to manage patients with lactic acidosis.
  • Discuss the current process of triaging and managing the oncology patient that presents with a potentially life-threatening complication.
