Program Description: 
This is a monthly lecture series, intended to provide updates regarding cancer research, treatment and supportive care to faculty and staff in the Hem-Onc division, and any other interested parties. Lectures are provided by internal or external speakers, who are experts in their topic area. Examples of talks given include updates in various cancers like lung cancer and melanoma, as well as overview/update about fertility issues related to cancer treatment.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Use a patient-centered approach to a broad range of cancer topics
  • Analyze which medical and surgical treatment options for cancer are the most appropriate for a given patient
  • Decide which time-sensitive diagnoses would most benefit from subspecialty care, versus those that need immediate action, versus those that can be managed locally.
