Through its educational arm, the ISTH Academy, the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) has begun hosting a series of webinars.
Dirk de Korte "The definition and use of platelet rich plasma in regenerative medicine" A systematic approach to determine the optimal composition of platelet rich plasma (PRP) to support healing of chronic (i.e. diabetic, vascular diseases) as well as acute wounds (i.e. burn wound, hard-to-heal chirurgic wounds).
Paul Harrison "Platelet rich plasma for sports injuries" The use of PRP in Sports Medicine and Tissue Regeneration. Is there any evidence that PRP therapy has efficacy for a variety of injuries. what are the known or theoretical mechanisms of action of PRP. I will present the recent ISTH RAND survey that the platelet physiology SSC undertook on this topic and I will briefly give an overview of the ongoing PATH-2 trial (Platelets in Achilles Tendon Healing) coordinated by the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre at the University of Oxford.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of The Medical College of Wisconsin and International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
