Transforming Care
Our goal is to highlight Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Neurotrauma Services
while providing education related to neurotrauma and multidisciplinary collaboration across
the continuum.
The speaker line-up includes clinicians and researchers from various disciplines covering
topics such as:
• new drug interventions for TBI
• physiological underpinnings of breathing in SCI
• translational research fundamentals
• biomarkers used to predict brain injury
• best practices in clinical management of neurotrauma
• diversity and equity in biomechanical research of car accidents
• updates on neurogenic bowel and bladder care
• implementation science in TBI systems of care
• updates in the biomechanics of car crashes
• nutrition in TBI care
• communication across a multidisciplinary team
• 414 Life program and hospital related outcomes
Target Audience
Wisconsin/Northern Illinois: Physicians, Surgeons, APPs, Therapists, RNs, Researchers, Case Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, EMS, medical and graduate students
Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- identify new approaches to evidence-based treatment and will implement these into their care of Neurotrauma patients
- evaluate both basic and clinical research findings and will be able to associate findings with innovations in Neurotrauma care and management
- understand the current public safety crisis related to gun and road violence, and apply this knowledge to better support patients with neurotrauma stemming from these incidents
