Program Description: 

This series incorporates neurosurgical grand rounds, clinical case presentations, clinicopathologic correlations, journal clubs, adult and also pediatric QI M&M.
In covering a wide variety of topics affecting Neurosurgical practice, these predominantly didactic sessions also address learning gaps for attendees, with updates in neuroscience, neurosurgery & its related fields (including oncology, radiology, neurology, ENT, anesthesia, biomechanics), techniques, medical care best practices, socioeconomics and ethics of medicine, education in medicine, etc. There is opportunity for discussion with content experts and inquisitive minds.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Summary of Presentation - Last summer, we started building a new research program at MCW to simultaneously record at different scales in the brain of patients with epilepsy implanted with depth electrodes. The goal is to use this platform in adults and children for both clinical research (improving epilepsy diagnosis and treatment) and to study different cognitive process (such as memory and language development). Today, I will tell you about the advances we have made so far and what the plans are for the next 6 months.
