This educational symposium is designed to highlight a broad range of topics relating to artificial intelligence (AI) in modern surgical practice. It will familiarize the audience with recent advances in the field, ethical considerations, and regulations surrounding its use.

Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Review the fundamental mechanisms and capabilities of recent advances in artificial intelligence, specifically generative-type models, and how they potentially can be integrated into surgical practice.
- Interpret ethical considerations that are associated with the use of artificial intelligence in surgical practice, including strategies to navigate ethical dilemmas and maintain trust when using artificial intelligence in surgical practice.
- Use existing and emerging data standards, data ontologies, and regulations related to data sharing that support the implementation of artificial intelligence in surgical practice.

The Artificial Intelligence in Surgery Symposium will be held on September 28, 2024, at the Medical College of Wisconsin Main Campus, located at 8701 W. Watertown Plank Road, Milwaukee WI, 53226. The event will take place in the Alumni Center. Enter the building in the attached photo and follow signage to the Alumni Center.
