Session 2: Medical Genetics

Medical Genetics, Undiagnosed and Rare Diseases allows participants to examine the application of genomics to core clinical systems and applying that knowledge to personalized management of patients.
 
Donald Basel, MD, is the Medical Director for the clinical genetics’ services for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Chief of the Division of Genetics within the Department of Pediatrics. He is the Associate Director for the Rare and Undiagnosed Disease Program within the Genome Sciences and Precision Medicine Center. He is the Director of the Medical Genetics Fellowship training program and Medical Director for the Masters in Genetic Counseling program within the Institute of Health and Equity. He has devoted much of his career to education initiatives within the field of genomics and is an advocate for precision health through genomic medicine.
