Review of NICU cases and basic physiology topics in neonatology.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Review the morphogenesis of the central nervous system (neuronal proliferation, migration, and myelination and the factors that effect these processes)
- Discuss abnormalities of neuronal migration, proliferation, and myelination (holoprosencephaly, agenesis of the corpus callosum, lissencephaly, and schizencephaly)
- Discuss the embryology, prevention, and findings with myelomeningoceles and encephaloceles
- Analyze the development and physiologic roles of neurotransmitters in the fetus and neonate
- Assess etiology, management, and outcomes of abnormal cranial shape/size (macrocephaly, hydrocephalus, and microcephaly)
