ForwardAcademic Half Day Conference - July
This educational activity is designed to help practicing dermatologists and APPs remain up to date on both common and uncommon dermatologic diseases, increasing their medical knowledge and competence in caring for these patients. There is not a specific dermatologic disease or topic which this activity is designed to address, as it is more open-ended and recurrent, allowing for the needs of the department to be met as they change year to year. It will additionally address the needs of maintaining professionalism and ethics in medicine, along with continuing practice improvement by presenting Quality Improvement projects.

Learning Objectives
"From Local Programmes to Global Action: Lessons from Albinism for Global Health Dermatology"
1. Describe the current political landscape for skin health prioritization generated by WHA resolution 78.15 identifying the key steps getting there.
2. Apply principles of global public health mandate to develop implementation strategy to skin cancer prevention and management in persons with albinism in the tropics and LMICs.
3. Inspire engagement and future/continued participation in global health initiatives.
"Beyond the Classic Rash: Unusual Presentations and Diagnostic Challenges in Infectious Dermatology"
1. Recognize atypical presentations of infectious skin diseases.
2. Strengthen pattern recognition and clinical reasoning through illustrative cases.
3. Differentiate infectious dermatoses from inflammatory, autoimmune, and neoplastic mimickers.
"Fifty Shades of Ray: A Practical Approach to Photodermatoses"
1. Differentiate the major categories of photodermatoses.
2. Develop a systematic approach to evaluating patients with photosensitive eruptions.
3. Review evidence-based management strategies for common photodermatoses.
"Make it Stop! Existing and Emerging Hemostasis Techniques in Dermatologic Surgery"
1. Review conventional existing techniques for mechanical, chemical, and surgical hemostasis in dermatologic surgery.
2. Explore emerging and promising hemostasis techniques for dermatologic surgery.
3. Understand antithrombotic considerations for patients undergoing dermatologic surgery.
