Join us for the Updates in Hospital Medicine conference, taking place at the Michels Center for Cancer Discovery, Medical College of Wisconsin, WI!
This conference has been designed to provide the latest information on current issues concerning Hospitalist Medicine. This course will provide clinically relevant information to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic skills in the hospitalist setting.
Target Audience
The target audience includes hospitalist physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, allied health professionals, and students practicing in inpatient settings.
Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Identify current best practice evidence-based guidelines for management of systolic and diastolic heart failure, where to find updates, and strategies to prevent readmission.
- Describe current best practice evidence-based guidelines for management of alcohol withdrawal, where to find updates, and strategies to prevent readmission.
- Identify current best practice evidence-based guidelines for management of sepsis, where to find updates, and strategies to prevent further decompensation and transfer to the intensive care unit.

Driving Directions
The campus is most easily accessed via I-41/US-45:
From the North, South, or West: Take I-41/US-45 and exit at Watertown Plank Road (Exit 40). Head East on Watertown Plank Road toward the campus.
From the East (Downtown Milwaukee): Take I-94 West to I-41 North, then exit at Watertown Plank Road (Exit 40) and head East
Bus: The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) provides several options. Line 31 stops at Watertown Plank Rd & 89th St. The CONNECT 1 BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) also serves the area, with a stop at N 92nd St & Connell Ave.
Parking Information
MCW Staff and Visitor Parking has merged into one lot on the east side of 87th Street. Parking lot access points are located at 2 locations: The main entrance off 87th Street and on the north side of the lot at Watertown Plank Road. Each access point will have an intercom system for visitor use. Visitors may park anywhere in the parking lot, but MCW recommends the parking structure as the most expedient method to find a parking spot.
Please note that the Watertown Plank Road access point does not have a westbound entrance or exit option. Visitors coming to campus from the east via Watertown Plank Road must turn left on 87th Street, drive past MCW and turn left at Connell Avenue to enter the parking lot from the south. Visitors needing to travel west on Watertown Plank Road from campus must exit the parking lots at the main exit on 87th Street or to the south on Connell Avenue.
