Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Apply the 2022 American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines to the longitudinal care and health supervision of children with Down syndrome, including recommended screening and management practices.
  • Identify ferritin thresholds and associated clinical parameters that indicate the need for iron supplementation in children with Down syndrome, and select appropriate treatment strategies based on these findings.
  • Recognize clinical signs, symptoms, and risk factors that warrant referral for polysomnography in children with Down syndrome, and integrate this decision-making into routine clinical care
