17th Annual Women's Health Conference

This educational activity is designed to provide up to date information in various aspects of the office practice in Women’s Health. As the academic presence in women’s health in the Milwaukee community, we feel it is important for us to provide this educational opportunity to providers of women’s health care in the community and the region. Specifically, this conference, entitled Women's Health - A Focus on Primary Care, will provide education on the following topics: Probiotics and women's health, adolescent gynecology, a primary care update on gynecologic oncology, migraines and women's health, GI disease and women's health, and the management of chronic back pain in women.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for practitioners in OB/GYN and in primary care who provide care for women, including Obstetricians/Gynecologists, Internists, Family Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Certified Nurse Midwives, Registered Nurses

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, I will be able to:
 
1. Discuss the most recent data on the use of probiotics in women's healthcare, in both pregnancy and primary care settings.
2. Review the effects, recommendations and debunk myths about the HPV vaccine
3. Review the referral indications in primary care for gynecologic oncology and the recommended workup and evaluations prior to referral
4. Analyze the common causes and treatment of migraine headaches in women
5. Understand the common complaints and workup/treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in women in primary care
6. Identify and apply non narcotic treatments and interventions to the management of chronic back pain in women
