19th Annual Women's Health Conference

Milwaukee, WI US
April 7, 2017

In southeastern Wisconsin, physicians and other healthcare providers consistently identify overprescription of opiate (narcotic) pain medications as a significant contributor to the opiate and heroin overdose and addiction crisis. This will be addressed in a presentation by Dr. Cresta Jones, an expert on opiate use disorder and women’s health, specifically addressing Responsible Opiate Prescribing – Curbing the Opiate Use Disorder Epidemic

Women’s health providers in our system have identified that we have currently limited expertise in cutting edge treatment of menopause, and there is no current menopause specialist at MCW. Dr. Vanessa Barnabei, former MCW faculty, will present an update on the treatment of menopause.

Transgender women’s health care is an emerging area of interest in women’s health and a highly requested topic for CME activities. Dr. Jessica Francis is an MCW leader in transgender health care and will be speaking on best practice for transgender women’s healt
